ShortStays.net information about Circular Quay Even if you're only spending a couple of days in Sydney, it's almost certain you'll pass through Circular Quay at least once. Located at the northern end of the CBD, this one of Sydney's major transport hubs. It's also an attraction in its own right, with the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and Museum of Contemporary Art all at its doorstep. Trains, ferries and buses depart from here to points all over Sydney, including Manly, Bondi, Mosman and Taronga Park Zoo. For this and many other reasons, Circular Quay is a bustling spot that's ideal for people-watching. A regular collection of buskers and performance artists help to keep things interesting. As you'd expect, there's the usual variety of boutiques, top-dollar restaurants and tourist shops scattered around the Quay, along with the Dendy Cinema and the Museum of Contemporary Art. The Quay is also where people come to check out the New Years Eve and Australia Day fireworks. But the best thing about Circular Quay is those million-dollar harbour views - and they won't cost you a cent. |
