Mardi Gras & related parties
The Sydney Mardi Gras group arrange several dance parties each year. The largest being the Mardi Gras party.

If you arrive early March you will be lucky to witness the world's largest Mardi Gras parade held annually in Sydney. The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras started life as a protest march in the 70s and today has turned into one of the most fun and vibrant events Sydney and Australia has to offer. You'll need to arrive early if you want a front row seat along busy Oxford St, with between 500,000 and 600,000 people from all over the world watching the parade and partying along.

Harbour Party - Azure
A fantastic outdoor dance party on the edge of Sydney Harbour, with the city, Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge as a back drop. Book your ticket early as only 5,000 are sold. The party is usually late Feb / early March.

FagTag
FagTag only started in 2004 and has amassesed a huge following. They arrange a party every few months usually in a different location with different DJs. Great friendly crowd.

Funky bar / restaurant / night club opened late 2005 on Oxford Street. Great crowd predominantly gay, usually over 25's, great cocktails, and the food is reasonably priced and great tasting.

The Imperial Hotel
The pub that was used in the opening scene of "Priscilla - Queen of the desert". This pub is located in Newtown (about $15 in a taxi from the city) and the Saturday night Priscilla show is definately worth the taxi fare. The shows start at 11pm, 1am and 3am. After the show everyone either heads to the front bar where there are pool tables, or downstairs to the club where entry is $5. Highly recommended.

Turtle Cove
Turtle Cove is located half way between Cairns and Port Douglas in far North Queensland (FNQ). Cairns is a 3 hour flight from Sydney. Turtle Cove has a private gay only beach, and is a wonderful place to relax after a few weeks partying in Sydney.
