If you vacation in early March you will be lucky to witness the world's largest Mardi Gras parade held annually in Sydney, Australia. You'll need to arrive early if you want a front row seat along busy Oxford St, with between 500,000 and 600,000 people from all over the world watching the parade and partying along, so it may be easier to try towards the end of the parade or look for cheap paid seating or parties along the way.
